“The Magnificent Seven” Paired With Lagunitas Brewing’s 12th Of Never Ale

“The Magnificent Seven” is a 2016 western directed by Antoine Fuqua, with script by Nic Pizzolatto and Richard Wenk.  This film is a remake of the remake of the 1960 movie of the same name, which was a reimagining of the 1954 film “Seven Samurai.  This movie stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Lee Byung-hun, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier, Haley Bennett, and Peter Sarsgaard.  The film follows a group of seven gunfighters who are hired by a town to protect it from a group of marauding bandits.  The movie looks amazing due to the work of cinematographer Mauro Fiore.  Antonie Fuqua does a good job of putting together a film that looks great and has great performances in it.  He updated the film for our modern times, and it includes an amazing long shootout scene.

The Beer Lover’s Guide To The Movies pairs this film with Lagunitas Brewing Company’s 12th Of Never Ale.  This American Pale Ale has an ABV of 5.5%.  This Beer is a pale yellow in color with a bigger head on it that dissipates slowly.  It is a mix of fruits, including pear, peaches, pineapple, apple, and mangos.  It tastes as it smells, big hops with not so much malts and some bitterness at the end.  It has a lighter mouth feel to it and strong carbonation.  This is great well-made beer with lots to remember about it.  I picked this beer because it is the beer I would pick before going into shootout that could be my last.
