“Air Force One” is a 1997 action thriller directed by Wolfgang Petersen wit script by Andrew W. Marlone. It stars Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Glenn Close, Wendy Crewson, Xander Berkeley, William H. Macy, Dean Stockwell, and Paul Guilfoyle. The film revolves around terrorists who hijack Air Force One, and President James Marshall (Ford) who takes matters into his own hands to rescue everyone onboard by retaking his plane. The film presents some unique and tense action scenes. President Marshall is the two-fisted leader you want in office while he takes down the terrorists. The CGI seems a bit dated, but the story, performances, and action are all there. It did well at the box offices and was well received by the film critics.
The Beer Lover’s Guide To The Movies pairs this film with Budweiser by Anheuser-Busch InBev. This American Lager has an ABV of 5.0%. It pours a light yellow or gold color with a large white head. You pick up on bread, rice, and malts with your nose. It tastes of corn, bread, a bit grainy, and finishes with a sweetness. It is an American Classic. I chose this beer because in the cargo hold of Air Force One is stored a couple of cases of Budweiser Beer. Throughout the movie the heroes and villains go by the cases of Bud again and again. Repetition brings me to this beer. I suspect the beer is there because movies are expensive to make and they will take money from advertisers to place their product in the film. I say it is money well spent.
