The Beer Lover’s Guide To The Movies pairs this film with Pike Brewing’s Pike Entire: Wood-Aged Stout. This limited release Imperial Stout takes their Pike XXXXX Stout and they age it in Woodinville Whiskey Company’s bourbon barrels. The beer has an ABV of 11.6%. It is a dark ashy black color with a head that goes away quickly. You pick up oak on the nose from the barrel aging. It tastes of coffee, vanilla, caramel with light bourbon notes. This is a rich and sweet beer that is well balanced enough to disguise the higher alcohol content. When I think of the blues, I think of whisky and beer. You get both in this stout and it pairs well with the film because of this.
